Ingredients
- 500 g meatballs (homemade or ready-made)
- 2 onions, cut into rings
- 2-3 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp dried onions
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- Salt and pepper
- 400 ml beef stock
- 2 tbsp gravy granules + 50 ml water
Preparation
Step 1
Fry the meatballs in a pan for a few minutes until they are golden brown. Then place the meatballs in the slow cooker.
Step 2
Fry the onion rings in the same pan as the meatballs and then add them to the slow cooker.
Step 3
Add the tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, oregano, dried onions, garlic, beef stock, and gravy granules to the slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Leave to simmer gently for 4 hours (‘high’ setting) or 8 hours (‘low’ setting).
Tip
garnish the meatballs with some thyme and serve with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
